Description:
The boat "Muskegon" with Captain T. H. Champion on the forward deck. There is the original and a duplicate. The "Muskegon" was built in 1903 for Thomas H. Shevlin Jr. and could accomodate 50 passengers. The cabin was finished in mahogany and somewhat resembled the interior of a palace railroad car. It orginally was powered by gas but in 1905 those engines were replaced by steam. In 1907 she was purchased by Captain Theodore H. Champion and was operated as a charcter launch until she was sold in 1909 to the North Star Boat Line of Ortonville, MN. ADOOB By Scott McGinnis.
