Mabel? and George? Dyers (?) standing in front of the LaPaul Hotel and White House in Excelsior. It appears to be taken on Lake Street. The LaPaul House was built in 1896 on the site of the Excelsior Hotel which was destroyed by fire in 1886. It was owned by Dr. George La Paul who put his medical offices at one end of the hotel. The LaPaul catered to a Southern clientele and provided four cottages for their servants. By 1905 the hotel had unique attraction — fountain that shot water 30 or 40 feet into the air. In 1918 it opened as the Goodrich House after it's new owner. ("Lake Minnetonka's Historic Hotels") In 1920 it became the Excelsior Bay Hotel. The building burned in 1928 and the remainder was torn down in 1929. ("Walking The Trails of History")
