Postcard of the Bartlett Hotel in Mound. There are two postcards. The third hotel in Mound the Bartlett Hotel opened in 1883 by Ed D. Bartlett at the upperend of Cook Bay near the Chapman House. The hotel claimed it was one of the best fishing resorts in Minnesota. Since the turn of the century the hotel was known by various names: Hotel Kern, Hern House and Hotel Martin.
